Dr. Carla Prado
Dr. Prado is an accomplished professor at the University of Alberta is the Principal Investigator in the PRIMe Study. She is a respected researcher in the area of body composition and metabolism in cancer. After receiving her Ph.D. in Nutrition and Metabolism at the University of Alberta, she underwent post-doctoral training at the Cross Cancer Institute, Canada and at the National Institutes of Health, USA. She later joined the faculty at Florida State University in 2011 as an Assistant Professor and was a visiting scholar at Newcastle University (UK) in 2013. In 2014, Dr. Prado returned to her beloved University of Alberta, where she is an Assistant Professor and CAIP Chair in Nutrition, Food and Health.
Katherine is a PhD student and Registered Dietitian working on the PRIMe Study. She obtained both her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition and her Dietetic Internship from the University of Prince Edward Island. Katherine holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Saskatchewan. She has work experience as a Registered Dietitian in both clinical and community nutrition. Katherine will be recruiting participants at the Cross Cancer Institute, providing nutrition counselling for people participating in the PRIMe Study, and helping out during participant’s visits to the Human Nutrition Research Unit.
Claire is a Research Coordinator in the PRIMe Study. She has a B. Sc. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Alberta and graduated in 2014. Claire will also be recruiting participants at the Cross Cancer Institute and she will be helping during the participant's visits at the Human Nutrition Research Unit. In her spare time, Claire loves to do outdoor activities such as running and camping.
